Aloha Friday: Shopping in a Bad Economy
Happy Black Friday to you brave souls who go shopping today. Even with this ugly economy staring us in the face, I hear so many people saying they're not changing their shopping plans.
I am one of those gift-givers who isn't crossing anyone off her list. I am so blessed to have wonderful family and friends so I will be sticking to my original shopping plan. My Christmas gift is seeing those beautiful smiles when my loved ones open their presents.
Will you be changing your original gift-giving plans because of the economy?

6 Good Neighbors Sipped a Cup:
No, however we have changed our plans just to provide a little more meaning into the season.
Well, every year I try to give, a select few, homemade gifts. You know, the cookie mix in a jar or something similar. But I never give myself enough planning time so end up chucking the idea. This year I just bought a bunch of 99 cent Hawaiian calendars while I was in Hawaii last month. I think that will make a few people happy.
Our plans changed when I lost my job last month. I'm heading back to work on monday, but we still have to get our bills caught up first.
No, not really. I am probably going to cut back on the little stuff but it will mostly be the same as far as the kids will be concerned!
No, because I shop the sales all year for holiday gifts.
We have scaled back a lot since we had our boys. We want them to know the true meaning of Chanukah more than the commercialized version. We buy them smaller items and will focus more on the miracle that happened long ago.
