Irondale Cafe

Fannie Flagg based her book "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe" on the real Irondale Cafe. This cafe is located in her hometown of Irondale, Alabama, and has an 80 year history.

I have eaten here many times and the inside is filled with movie memorabilia, autographs and pictures from the 20s. It is a lovely little cafe where no one is treated like a stranger. The trains still run several times a day and you can't find a better deal on a homecooked meat and three vegetables plate.

Looks like a great place. Thanks for sharing it!

I hope you'll stop by my Wordless Wednesday post. Hint: It's really, really big!
